A delegation from the Authority for the Care of Persons with Disabilities (APD), led by Chief Executive Officer Dr. Hisham bin Mohammed Al-Heidari, visited AlUla Governorate as part of the Authority’s field visits across several regions of the Kingdom. The visit aimed to review services provided to persons with disabilities and to enhance collaboration with relevant stakeholders. The delegation began its program by meeting officials of the Royal Commission for AlUla (RCU), where they discussed areas of joint cooperation and the development of initiatives and projects that support the empowerment of persons with disabilities and improve quality of life within an inclusive environment. The visit also included a briefing on the Social Rehabilitation Center project supervised by RCU, with a tour of its operational phases and specialized facilities dedicated to serving persons with disabilities in the governorate. The delegation further visited Prince Abdulmohsin bin Abdulaziz Hospital in AlUla, where they reviewed medical and rehabilitative services available to persons with disabilities and assessed the readiness of facilities to meet their needs. The visit also covered the programs and activities offered by Oula Association for Persons with Disabilities in AlUla, exploring avenues to strengthen cooperation in ways that enhance service development and sustain initiatives for beneficiaries. This visit comes within APD’s efforts to monitor the quality of services provided to persons with disabilities and to promote integration with entities across the government, private, and non-profit sectors, in support of Saudi Vision 2030 objectives to build an inclusive, enabling society that ensures equal opportunities for all.
