The Authority for the Care of Persons with Disabilities (APD) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the King Salman Park Foundation to enhance the experience of persons with disabilities and promote integration across inclusion, accessibility, and service delivery. The MoU was signed by APD Chief Executive Officer Dr. Hisham bin Mohammed Al-Heidari and King Salman Park Foundation Chief Executive Officer George Tanasijevich. The MoU aims to enable persons with disabilities to benefit from all park facilities by ensuring both the physical and non-physical environment is fully accessible; to facilitate the exchange of expertise and knowledge between the two entities in ways that improve services and advance inclusivity; to align joint strategies for planning and implementing current and future initiatives; to enhance the visitor experience for persons with disabilities by measuring and improving service quality; and to cooperate on media and educational efforts to raise public awareness of the rights of persons with disabilities. It also provides for the exchange of data and statistics to support the achievement of shared objectives. As the umbrella body for all matters related to persons with disabilities in the Kingdom, APD works in an integrated manner with stakeholders across sectors to empower persons with disabilities. The Authority has signed a number of cooperation and understanding agreements with entities from the government, private, and non-profit sectors to advance accessibility and deliver on Saudi Vision 2030 objectives toward an inclusive, enabling society with equal opportunities for all.
