The Authority for Persons with Disability and the Al-Ha’il Region Development Authority signed a cooperation memorandum aimed at enhancing coordination between the two parties, supporting the empowerment of persons with disabilities, and developing services and initiatives that improve their experience and strengthen their participation across various fields. Under the patronage of the Emir of the Al-Ha’il Region, His Royal Highness Abdulaziz bin Saad bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and in the presence of His Excellency the Minister of Human Resources and Social Development, Engineer Ahmed bin Suleiman Al-Rajhi, Chairman of the Board of the Authority, the Authority for Persons with Disability was represented in signing the agreement by its Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Hisham bin Muhammad Al-Haydhari, while the Al-Ha’il Region Development Authority was represented by its Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Omar bin Abdullah Al-Abduljabbar.

The memorandum includes cooperation to improve the experience of visitors who are persons with disabilities by encouraging the concerned entities to prepare the available services, locations, and activities—ensuring an easy, comprehensive, and accessible tourism experience. It also includes empowering and employing them in various sectors affiliated with the Al-Ha’il Region Development Authority, and providing an inclusive and motivating work environment in accordance with the relevant regulations and bylaws. The cooperation further includes social innovation projects aimed at addressing challenges by supporting community participation and leveraging assistive technologies, as well as supporting and expanding initiatives of the type that help raise awareness and strengthen community empowerment. In addition, it includes media coordination between the two parties to highlight related efforts and initiatives through the approved media channels. The memorandum comes in line with the two parties’ commitment to strengthening partnerships and institutional integration, and developing initiatives and services that take into account the needs of persons with disabilities—thereby enhancing their participation and empowerment, and providing accessible tourism, development, and social environments that are comprehensive and inclusive. As the comprehensive umbrella for all matters related to persons with disabilities, the Authority for Persons with Disability—through integration with various sectors—works to enhance the services provided to them and to support their empowerment and participation, with the aim of reaching a comprehensive and integrated society where opportunities are equal for persons with disabilities, in line with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
