The Project of Developing and Sustaining Services Provided to Persons with Disabilities

The Authority of People with Disability held a cooperative meeting within the project of developing and sustaining services provided to persons with disabilities on Wednesday, 25 Jumada I 1443 AH - the 29 of December, 2021, at the Authority's headquarters with the participation of representatives of 14 government entities contributing to the provision of services. The most prominent of which are the ministries of health, education, human resources, social development, sports, and housing. The aim is to discuss the vision of future services provided to persons with disabilities, improve and develop these services, overcome existing challenges, propose solutions and initiatives, and develop performance indicators and governance of the care system for persons with disabilities to achieve the objectives of Vision 2030 and its programs.

The meeting began with a speech by the CEO of the Authority, Dr.Hisham Al-Haidary, included a brief of the Authority, its main objectives, and its role in promoting the integration and inclusiveness of efforts made by various sectors to improve the services provided to persons with disabilities and ensure their access to their rights in a way that contributes to their empowerment and enhances their integration in public and professional life. Participants then discussed the services' status, a report to measure beneficiary satisfaction and a benchmarking study. Then, the discussion moved to the future vision of the services and ways to develop them. Afterward, the most prominent and important challenges in the current situation and the optimal methods of dealing with them were discussed. The meeting concluded with a set of executive initiatives and recommendations in preparation for formulating a plan with the participation of government entities.
