A delegation from the Authority of People with Disabilities participated in the fifteenth session of the Conference of State Parties to the Convention on the Rights of People with Disabilities in New York. The conference had the overarching theme of “Building disability-inclusive and participatory societies in the COVID context and beyond.”
The conference lasted for three days and presented papers from member countries, including the efforts made to empower and support persons with disabilities. Some countries also participated in the global experiences that they worked for and to reach inclusiveness and comprehensive participation in all aspects of life.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia signed the Convention on the Rights of People with Disabilities and the Optional Protocol in 2008 and reflect the policies of the Convention and make them inclusive of people with disabilities.
