The Authority for Persons with Disability concluded its participation in the Seventh International Conference on Disability and Rehabilitation, held from October 11 to 13, 2026, under the patronage of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud—may God protect him—and organized by the King Salman Center for Disability Research in Riyadh. The Authority was represented by its Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Hisham bin Muhammad Al-Haydhari, who chaired the first opening panel discussion of the conference, as a member of the conference’s Higher Supervisory Committee. The session was led by His Royal Highness Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, the Special Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the King Salman Center for Disability Research, President of the Conference, with the participation of a number of ministers. The session discussed the unified national file for persons with disabilities, including the integration of data and digital platforms, the utilization of modern technologies to develop the services provided to them, and the enhancement of planning efficiency and decision-making. The Authority also participated in the accompanying exhibition through its information booth, presenting its regulatory role and efforts to strengthen the rights of persons with disabilities, develop relevant policies and programs, and support integration among the concerned entities—contributing to empowering persons with disabilities and strengthening their participation in various fields. In addition, the Authority’s participation included presenting in a number of scientific papers and parallel sessions covering topics related to disability and rehabilitation, service development, empowerment enhancement, and exchanging expertise and experiences. This supports the further development of the national system related to persons with disabilities. It is worth noting that the Authority for Persons with Disability is the comprehensive umbrella for all matters related to persons with disabilities in the Kingdom. It works in integration with various sectors to enhance the services provided to them, protect their rights, and enable their active participation in society—contributing to building an inclusive, integrated community in which opportunities are equal for all.
